iPitch

Entry Deadline: Closed

Got a new media concept that you want to make a reality? Need development funding? Have we got the forum for you!

If you have an idea for a new media project associated with a television program that combines convergence, interactivity, creativity and originality, then iPitch at the Banff World Television Festival is the opportunity for you. Pitch your idea to people who can help make it happen and win $10,000 in development funding from the Bell Broadcast and New Media Fund.

Veteran and emerging new media producers are invited to apply for this unique opportunity. We are looking for innovative and dynamic new media concepts that push the boundaries of interactivity to enhance a television program experience. The project must be multi-platform with the new media component delivered via platforms such as interactive television, wireless, websites, CD-ROM and/or DVD-ROM.

The iPitch judges will be looking for projects that are achievable, innovative and make best and most appropriate use of each medium that is used. The project should be clearly targeted and assumptions about numbers of potential users should be clearly stated.

All submissions sent to Banff will be reviewed by the iPitch jury and three finalists will be chosen to pitch their projects at the Banff World Television Festival in June. The chosen finalists will publicly pitch their projects in person at the Festival to the iPitch jury - a panel of new media experts - who will ask questions about each project's content and proposed business plan. Immediately following the pitching event, the winning iPitch project will be announced and the prize money from the Bell Broadcast and New Media Fund will be presented. The winner will receive up to $10,000 in development funding from the Bell Broadcast and New Media Fund and the opportunity to attend the Banff New Media Institute's Interactive Screen program on a full scholarship covering registration and accommodation.
