Quebecor Banff Convergence Fellowship 2007
The 2007 Quebecor Banff Convergence Fellowship will bring six industry professionals to nextMEDIA and the Banff World Television Festival to support their role in creating culturally diverse cross-platform content.
All candidates must be Toronto-based intermediate or senior level industry professionals from Aboriginal or visible minority communities, with market-ready TV and interactive projects.
The selection committee will also consider giving one of the Fellowships to an eligible industry administrator or manager who has demonstrated leadership through industry activities, volunteer work, and commitment to advancing diversity.
The Quebecor Fellows will have their nextMEDIA and Banff World Television Festival registration, accommodation air and ground travel expenses covered, and will have access to industry mentors.
Fellows are also encouraged to participate in nextMEDIA?s $10,000 pitch competition, nextPITCH. Submissions for consideration as a 2007 candidate must include:
- One-page resume demonstrating 5+ years of professional experience.
- Brief bio (300 words or less).
- One-page letter stating how you would benefit professionally from attending both nextMEDIA and the Banff World Television Festival as well as a description of your interests in cross-platform productions. Please also add a brief statement explaining your financial need to receive a Fellowship to attend these events.
- One-sheets describing two or three market-ready productions you have developed. Please also tell us if you are able to pitch these projects at the nextPITCH competition. Administrative applicants only: instead of including one sheets, outline the benefits of the Fellowship to your career development goals and the benefits to your community or industry-related organization.
Deadline is Friday, March 23, 2007.
