Entry Deadline: Closed
The Lions Gate/Maple Pictures Innovative Producer Award is intended to recognize entrepreneurial excellence for established Canadian independent producers. An independent producer is defined as 1) a producer who makes programs for broadcasters as opposed to in-house production by broadcasters, or 2) producers working on contract for broadcasters. You qualify if you create programs FOR broadcasters. Any Canadian working as an independent producer, either nationally or internationally, is entitled to apply for the Lions Gate/Maple Pictures Innovative Producer Award.
The winner will be selected by a Jury consisting of three jurors (one representative from Maple Pictures, one representative from the Banff Television Festival Foundation and one representative from the broadcasting/production community).
The winner of the Lions Gate/Maple Pictures Innovative Producer Award will be contacted by June 1, 2005. Winning the award is not contingent upon the winner being in attendance at BANFF 2005. The winner will cover his/her own expenses to attend the 2005 Banff World Television Festival, June 12-15, 2005.
In recognition of innovation and entrepreneurial excellence in the Canadian television industry, the winner of the Lions Gate/Maple Pictures Innovative Producer Award will receive $5,000 in prize money from Lions Gate/Maple Pictures.
Applications are due by Tuesday, May 31, 2005.
